Sheet Metal Fabricator

Granco Clark is searching for a Sheet Metal Fabricator for its Belding facility setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal. Ensure products meet precise specifications in accordance with specifications and per company standards by performing the following duties.

Department: Manufacturing
Shift: Days – Full Time
Supervisor Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Able to work with your hands, whether directly manipulating components or using controls on an assembly machine.
  • Able to use basic math skills.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, computer literacy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mechanical/organizational skills.
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time often doing repetitive motions.
  • Must be willing to work overtime.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma, G.E.D., with trade school experience preferred.

Experience Requirements:

3-5 years’ experience

Skill Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be able to multi-task in different areas, read blueprints, work from drawings, and operate standard fabrication machinery (power tools, drill press, etc…).  Experience in the fabrication and assembly of simulators are all a plus, but not required. Candidates must also be able to work effectively both alone and as part of the team, be self-motivated, and pay extreme attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier and stand at machines for majority of a work day.
